Avanti Trading first contacted us at Certo Design via our website before meeting up in person to discuss the brand and propose a logo design project.

Avanti Trading are a Blackburn based, family-run business offering business to business and business to retail services within the clothing sector. So, the brief was to focus on the trading element of the business and create a logo that captured this in a modern and colourful design.

Above all, Certo Design values customer interaction. Therefore our approach to Logo Design always starts with talking to the client about what they want. In other words, we take the time to know your thoughts and ideas first, before generating our own ideas. In this case, we met for coffee and had an informal chat.

After talking about the Avanti Trading business and Logo design we decided on a distinct style that was angular and bold. In addition to this we referenced several logo designs to ensure we had a similar vision in mind.

Once the preliminary meetings were done, we got work! That is to say, it was full steam ahead in the Certo Design office with many logo designs created, using various fonts and layouts. As we had already established the style of the logo it was a case of playing with layout and shape to start with. Then to forward the designs and get feedback on the initial mockups.

All feedback is important and we try to listen carefully and to take it all on board. As a result of the feedback we progressed with a couple of the logo designs, now playing with colour also. During this process we experimented with negative space to subtly communicate the companies business - trading. And yes we have to admit that the FedEx logo was a key influence in adopting this design approach.

The final Avanti Trading logo design was now starting to take shape. Even though a colour palette was yet to be decided, a distinct design had been finalised. Inevitably, we ended up providing the final logo design in a selection of colours. As there was no existing branding in place, this allowed our client to view the logo and decide which colour best suited their service.

Finally a new Avanti Trading company logo was created. Most importantly the client was very happy with the logo and the process. In view of this, further design work is being discussed.
